APLIKASI UNFINISHED MANIPULATING FABRIC PADA BUSANA READY TO WEAR DELUXE DENGAN SUMBER IDE PASIR BERBISIK

Abstract

This study focuses on the application of unfinished manipulating fabric in deluxe ready-to-wear clothing inspired by the whispering sands of Bromo. The objectives of this study are to formulate the manufacturing process, realise the results, and present the clothing designs. The selection of the whispering sand as the source of inspiration is based on its distinctive characteristics, namely the formation of sand waves caused by wind gusts that cause the sand to fly, creating beautiful and unique waves. These waves were applied to the garments using thick denim fabric, as it can create a rough texture resembling sand and were applied to the garments to form waves. The research method used in this creation process is practice-led research, which consists of pre-design, design, realisation, and presentation of the work. The resulting clothing designs include three deluxe ready-to-wear garments, one men's garment consisting of three pieces—a shirt, outerwear, and pants—and two women's garments, with the first women's garment comprising outerwear and a skirt, and the second women's garment comprising outerwear and a jumpsuit.
