Author Guidelines

JURNAL SOCIA AKADEMIKA 


1. General Provisions

  1. Articles must be original scientific works of the authors and must not have been previously published or be under review in other journals or media.

  2. Articles must be free from plagiarism. Authors are required to complete an article originality statement form.

  3. Articles must follow the writing style and format of the Socia Akademika Journal.

  4. Articles must emphasize studies in:

    • Culinary Arts

    • Fashion Design

    • Fashion Styling

    • Makeup Artistry

    • Special Education related to the fields above (see Focus and Scope).

  5. Articles must demonstrate:

    • Strong analytical discussion

    • Up-to-date references

    • Academic originality


2. Language

Articles must be written in English.


3. Manuscript Format

  1. Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word.

  2. Paper size: A4 (21 cm × 29.7 cm).

  3. Font: Times New Roman.

  4. Main text font size: 12 pt.

  5. Line spacing: Single spacing.

  6. Manuscript length: 15–20 pages.

  7. Margins:

    • Top: 2.5 cm

    • Bottom: 2.5 cm

    • Right: 2.5 cm

    • Left: 3 cm

  8. Text alignment: Justified.

  9. First-line paragraph indentation is required.

  10. Page numbers must be placed at the bottom center of the page.


4. Article Structure

The manuscript must be arranged in the following order:

  1. Title

  2. Author Name(s), Affiliation, and Email Address

  3. Abstract

  4. Keywords

  5. Introduction

  6. Method / Methodology

  7. Results and Discussion

  8. Conclusion and Suggestions

  9. Recommendations (if applicable)

  10. Acknowledgements (if applicable)

  11. References


5. Title

  1. Must be written in English.

  2. Must be written in capital letters.

  3. Maximum 15 words.

  4. Times New Roman 14 pt.

  5. Single spacing.


6. Author Name and Affiliation

  1. Author names must be written without academic titles.

  2. Times New Roman 11 pt, single spacing.

  3. If there is more than one author, use numbering (¹, ², ³, etc.).

  4. Affiliations must be written below the author names.

  5. Email addresses must be included.


7. Abstract and Keywords

Abstract

  1. Written in English.

  2. Maximum 250 words.

  3. Must contain:

    • Research purpose

    • Methodology

    • Main results

  4. Times New Roman 11 pt, single spacing.

Keywords

  1. Consist of 3–5 words.

  2. Must be separated by commas.


8. Introduction

The introduction must include:

  • Background of the study

  • Problem formulation

  • Research objectives

  • Significance of the study

Foreign terms should be written in italic format when necessary.


9. Method / Methodology

Must clearly explain:

  • Time and place of research

  • Research subjects or objects

  • Tools and materials

  • Research procedures

  • Data collection techniques

  • Data analysis methods


10. Results and Discussion

This section must include:

  • Research findings

  • Data interpretation

  • Comparison with previous studies

  • Discussion relevant to research objectives

Table Format

  • Table titles must be placed above the table.

  • Tables must be numbered sequentially (Table 1, Table 2, etc.).

  • Tables must be centered.

Figure Format

  • Figure titles must be placed below the figure.

  • Figures must be numbered sequentially (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.).

  • Figures must be centered.


11. Conclusion and Suggestions

Conclusions must be:

  • Based on research findings

  • Logical, concise, and objective

Suggestions must be:

  • Relevant to findings

  • Practical and applicable


12. Recommendations

Contains policy recommendations, implementation suggestions, or further research directions.


13. Acknowledgements

May be addressed to:

  • Individuals contributing directly to the research

  • Funding institutions

  • Supporting organizations or facilities


14. References

General Rules

  1. All cited sources must appear in the reference list.

  2. Priority should be given to primary sources (journals and scientific books).

  3. References should preferably be published within the last 10 years.

  4. References must be prepared using reference management software such as:

    • Mendeley

    • Zotero

    • EndNote

  5. Reference format must follow APA 7th Edition.


15. Reference Examples

Book

Author. (Year). Book Title. City: Publisher.

Journal Article

Author. (Year). Article Title. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), pages.

Conference Proceedings

Author. (Year). Article Title. Conference/Proceeding Name.

Thesis / Dissertation

Author. (Year). Title. Institution.

Internet Source

Author. (Year). Title. URL. Access date.


16. Header and Footer

  • Odd page header: Journal name, volume, number, and year.

  • Even page header: First three words of article title and author name.

  • Times New Roman 10 pt italic.


17. Submission Requirements

  1. Articles must be submitted online.

  2. Submission must include:

    • Article manuscript file

    • Author academic biography (maximum 100 words).

  3. Authors must ensure manuscripts follow the official article template.


18. Ethical Publication Standards

Authors must:

  • Guarantee originality

  • Avoid plagiarism

  • Avoid multiple submissions

  • Present valid and accountable research data


19. Article Template

Authors must prepare manuscripts using the official Socia Akademika Journal article template.
