Abstract

Current fashion trends encourage innovation in product design, including accessories such as tote bags. One creative technique used is textile origami, and the red flower tessellation pattern was chosen because of its symmetrical and attractive folds, which enhance its aesthetic value. This study examines the differences in the results of denim tote bags made using three origami pattern sizes, namely 6×6 cm, 8×8 cm, and 10×10 cm. The objectives of this study include describing the results of tote bags for each size and analyzing the effect of pattern size on the quality of the final product. This study used an experimental method with assessment through questionnaires given to 30 observers consisting of five experts and twenty-five students. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, sphericity assumption test, Repeated Measures ANOVA, and post-hoc test. The results showed that tote bags with a 6×6 cm pattern received the lowest average score (47.77), those with an 8×8 cm pattern received a higher score (49.50), and those with a 10×10 cm pattern received the highest score (53.27). These findings prove that pattern size has a significant effect on the final result, and the 10×10 cm pattern is considered the best in terms of stability, neatness, and origami shape
