EFEKTIVITAS MODIFIKASI TEKNIK QUILLING BERBAHAN KAWAT DALAM MENINGKATKAN KREATIVITAS MAHASISWA PADA PEMBUATAN AKSESORIS RAMBUT GALA

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analyse the application of modified wire quilling techniques in the creation of formal hair accessories; (2) describe the resulting hair accessories; and (3) measure the level of creativity among students in the Cosmetology Program in exploring these techniques. This study employed a descriptive approach with mixed-methods data collection through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 25 students from the Cosmetology Program at AKS-AKK Yogyakarta. The results showed that the use of wire and beads with the quilling technique proved effective in facilitating the exploration of diverse shapes and colours. A total of 88% of the students were able to develop creative ideas independently without being limited by rigid patterns. Thus, the modification of the wire-based quilling technique is an effective innovation in enhancing students’ creativity and aesthetic skills in the creation of gala hair accessories
