Abstract

This research aims to describe the process and final results of creating a blouse using the eco-printing technique on ramie linen fabric as an environmentally friendly fashion innovation. The eco-printing technique utilizes natural pigments from various types of leaves and flowers applied to natural fabric. The Double Diamond method, which encompasses four stages, was used: Discover (exploring the characteristics of local fabrics and flora), Define (concept development and moodboarding), Develop (eco-printing technique experiments), and Deliver (the blouse production process, which has been tested for feasibility). Three eco-printed blouse designs were developed and evaluated by two fashion lecturers and one eco-printing practitioner, with assessments based on design aspects and final quality. The research method was quantitative and descriptive, with data collected through observation sheets and presented as an average score. The evaluation results showed that the first design received the highest score with 60.4%, while the overall average score was 53. The conclusion is that ramie linen fabric is able to absorb pigments well due to its dense fibers, resulting in a sharp eco-print motif. This product is considered a worthy sustainable fashion innovation that combines aesthetics, function, and environmental awareness.
