Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of digital pattern making in the Fashion Pattern Making subject at SMKN 8 Surabaya. The main focus of the research includes: (1) describing the efficiency level of digital pattern making compared to manual methods, (2) analyzing the impact of using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software on the quality of fashion patterns, and (3) identifying the factors that influence the effectiveness of digital pattern implementation in the school environment. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method, distributing questionnaires to Grade XI students of the Fashion Design Department at SMKN 8 Surabaya. The collected data were analyzed using linear regression. The results show that: (1) digital pattern making is more efficient in terms of time, accuracy, and ease of revision compared to manual methods, (2) the use of CAD software positively influences the quality of the resulting patterns, and (3) the effectiveness of digital pattern implementation is not significantly affected by factors such as software availability or teacher competence. It is recommended that the school further optimize the use of CAD software in learning, provide training for both teachers and students, and ensure the availability of adequate digital learning facilities
